I spent the afternoon at an engagement shoot with this fun south Austin family a few weeks before Mom and Dad tied the knot. They’ve created a sweet family nest. Everywhere you turn in their home there’s beauty, whimsy, thought and heart. Stay tuned to see their beautiful wedding photos from Fischer Hall!

oakland-promo-2PINI love fall in the bay area. Actually, I don’t think there’s a season I don’t love there. There are so many inspired places to shoot and while Austin is also full of them, I do look forward to coming back, feeling the cool mist on my skin, and exploring the different quality of light the ‘other’ city by the bay offers. I love you, Oakland!

I’m also really looking forward to those familiar faces who have already booked on October 22-23. Thank you! I still have a few spots for holiday mini-sessions available.

The location is TBD but a couple of places I’m considering are Middle Harbor Shorleine Park in Oakland with it’s great views of San Francisco across the bay. A little further away but with a mix of industrial feel and nature is Miller/Knox regional shoreline in Point Richmond. If you’ve never been there, it’s interesting. There are remains of the Richmond Ferry Terminal which was actually used to transport passengers to Fisherman’s Wharf and the San Francisco Giants ballpark until the late 2000s. It’s also surrounded by some old industrial buildings that create an urban/artsy feel. There are also plenty of wide open spaces near the water, too.

I have a love/hate relationship with fall. I love hitting the restart button—with nutrition, school, Rosh Hashannah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah—we celebrate it all around here! There’s so much that’s good that it’s easy to forget to be present as you are preparing for the next holiday.

Holiday photo sessions can be a great time to reconnect with your loved ones—including yourself—so I invite you to join me October 29 and November 13 for Austin mini-sessions. (I’m also doing them in the bay area on October 22-23)

The location is TBD. I love scouting out new and unique places for photo shoots. It’s exciting to explore and this translates into the energy I put into each and every shoot. It’s an insatiable curiosity for better or for worse! Just know that it will be an inspired and relaxing experience. This fun loving couple tied the knot in true Austin style at a private residence on Lake Austin. After they married barefoot under beautiful old pecan trees, they made their getaway after dark on a ski boat just before the skies dumped buckets of rain…..by far the most adventuresome getaway ever for this wedding photographer!

I met Genny and Keith in 2009 in San Francisco when they hired me to photograph their wedding and engagement. On a trip back to the Bay Area a few weeks ago, I got the great pleasure of photographing them with their now 2-year-old son, Max. Genny and Keith were game for exploring back then —you’ll see some fun shots of their wedding and engagement in this post—and having a toddler has, from what I can tell, only given Keith an excuse to play on the monkey bars himself! And yes, his shirt says “Dad” in code. Love that Max.  🙂
